Lake Lewisville

The head of our group explains the dangers of poison ivy.

Hey there guys! We’ve been having a crazy week at the Y! On Monday we led the camp kids in our Earth balloons project. We covered the balloons in paper Mache, let them dry, and then painted them to look like Earth the next day. It took about an hour and a half to clean up too, but the balloons turned out great! Also, our boss Mr. Yazdanpanah came and visited us on Tuesday, and we got to show him our great place, the Y. Thursday we went to Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area, and got to plant aquatic vegetation. I planted about a dozen plants in knee-deep water, and it was AMAZING! We got sweaty, hot, and messy, and decided to take a dip in the river, a phenomenal end to our project.

The song of the week this week is Isn’t It A Pity, by George Harrison. It’s a great song that questions the things we do as humans, and it inspires me. Thanks for reading!
